EVERETT — Snohomish County Council voted unanimously to approve new leadership on Tuesday.
Council member Nate Nehring is now the council’s president while council member Megan Dunn steps into the vice president role. Previously, Nehring was vice president of the council.
“I am truly honored that my colleagues have elected me as Chair of the County Council,” Nehring said in a release. “I look forward to collaborating with my fellow council members, the County Executive and other elected officials to serve the residents of Snohomish County.”
Council member Jared Mead was the previous president of the body. The council chair presides over county council meetings and provides leadership to council staff. The vice chair is part of the council’s leadership team and steps in when the council president isn’t available.
Council leaders serve one-year terms.
“I am honored to have been unanimously selected as Vice Chair of the County Council for 2025,” Dunn said in a release. “I am excited to continue serving the community in a leadership capacity and remain committed to transparency and fostering public trust.”
