LYNNWOOD — Two months of disruptions to Link Light rail will start this weekend as Sound Transit looks to tackle several projects.
Instead of its usual 10 minutes, the Link will run every 12 minutes weekday evenings and some weekends between Saturday and Feb. 27. During weekdays, the slower times will begin at the 5:30 p.m. departure from Angle Lake and the 6:45 p.m. train from Lynnwood City Center Station.
In addition, trains will be running on a single track at the Shoreline South station.
There will be a number of other service disruptions as well:
• Beginning at 10 p.m. from Jan. 10-12, shuttle buses will replace 1 Line service between Westlake and SODO stations, running every 10 to 15 minutes. Trains will operate between Lynnwood–Westlake and SODO–Angle Lake every 15 minutes.
• Starting at 10 p.m. on Jan. 17-19, shuttle buses will replace 1 Line service between Capitol Hill and SODO stations, running every 10 to 15 minutes. Trains will operate between Lynnwood–Capitol Hill and SODO–Angle Lake every 15 minutes.
• Shuttle buses will replace 1 Line service between U District and Capitol Hill stations, running every 10-15 minutes on Feb. 1-2. Trains will operate between Lynnwood–U District every 12 minutes and Capitol Hill–Angle Lake every 15 minutes.
• Beginning at 10 p.m. on Feb. 14, shuttle buses will replace 1 Line service between Capitol Hill and SODO stations, running every 10-15 minutes until Feb. 16. Trains will operate between Lynnwood–Capitol Hill and SODO–Angle Lake every 15 minutes. Trains will also share one track at Shoreline South/148th Station.
The shifts are due to Sound Transit contractors installing roof paneling at the new 130th Street Station. Work is also being done in the tunnel near the University of Washington station.
