EVERETT — A 17-year-old boy who was in a multiple vehicle crash on Highway 526 last week has died, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Austin Nguyen, of Marysville, died at a hospital Monday from blunt-force injuries, the medical examiner determined. His death was classified as an accident.
Nguyen was driving a Honda Prelude around 6:45 p.m. last Thursday when he collided with a Ford Ranger pickup truck. His passenger suffered moderate injuries, and the family in the Ranger had minor injuries, said Everett police officer Aaron Snell.
The crash blocked eastbound lanes in the 3100 block of the highway, near Boeing.
Detectives believe speed was a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
