An emergency distress signal was sent to the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center, who notified the State EOC of the accident. The subject was reported to be located at the 6,600-foot level with a broken arm and a leg injury.
At 11 a.m., the sheriff’s office deployed its rescue helicopter, SnoHawk10, for Sloan Peak. The crew located the injured climber and his two partners on a steep, snow-covered ledge at 6,600 feet.
