I agree with County Executive Dave Somers veto on the surface water fee reduction (“County executive vetoes fee break to save envinronmental work,” The Herald, Dec. 29).
That vote by the council was a political gesture. Eliminating the increase would only be a nickle and dime savings to the consumer, no more than turning off a hallway light for a month. In all reality it would not of helped anyone struggling through the pandemic. Those needs are larger than this move.
