Image what the air would be like without emission standards

The recent temporary smoke in our area makes me think this is what every day would look like if all the cars on the road got 10 to 15 miles per gallon and put out the same emissions as my 1956 Buick did in the 60s. Fortunately, someone decided cars could do better back then, and they progressed. Similarly with factory emissions. I am glad someone had the foresight and clout to get standards in place to make life more pleasant. Too bad if they get eroded.
