What a great article by Julie Titone reegarding climate change education! (“Amid smoke-filled summers, motivated teachers drive climate education,” The Herald, March 11)
It shouldn’t be lost on us that our children and their children are going to be the inhabitants of the planet that we will be leaving to them; all the more reason that they understand the importance of reminding their parents about their responsibility in ensuring that our planet is going to be a fit place in which they and their children can grow up. Recent news indicates that the trend of increased atmospheric carbon content is still rising.
Alexander Pope had it right in his comment: “Tis education forms the common mind. Just as the twig is bent, the tree’s inclined.” In more than one way, Alexander!
