Must have been heavy metal fans

Props to the cop: A Mukilteo police officer arrested two men Jan. 1 after he discovered a 3,100-pound ship’s propeller beneath a tarp on a trailer the men were towing behind their pickup. The officer recognized the prop as one that has stood outside a Mukilteo marine supply store for 15 years.

Good thing the officer nipped this in the bud. Had they gotten away with it, the two thwarted metal thieves were next headed to the Seattle Art Museum and the Hammering Man sculpture.

Should have stuck with the knock-knock jokes: The Navy has fired Capt. Owen Honors of the carrier USS Enterprise after profane satiric videos surfaced that he produced and showed to the ship’s crew when he served as the carrier’s commanding officer in 2006 and 2007.

The Buzz, of all people, understands the role of satire and also well knows what it’s like when a joke falls flat. The difference? We’re not in command of a crew of 5,700 aboard a nuclear-powered floating arsenal.

Heck yeah: State police in Pennsylvania will no longer cite people for cursing, as part of a settlement in a federal free-speech lawsuit. The case was brought by a woman fined $300 for swearing at a motorcyclist who swerved toward her as she was walking.

Capt. Honors, you can now add Pennsylvania to your list of potential places to retire.

Comment: Why would Trump want to sell tiny cars to Americans?

Trump is enamoured with Japan’s ‘kei’ cars. But would SUV-loving Americans be interested?
