Pence, but not predecessors could have overturned elections?

Former President Trump is apparently insistent that the vice president has authority to invalidate and overturn electoral college votes. So I guess Richard Nixon could have declared himself the president in 1960. Hubert Humphrey could have done the same in 1968. Nelson Rockefeller could have given Gerald Ford a second term in 1974, and Walter Mondale given Jimmy Carter a second term in 1980. Dan Quayle, Al Gore and Joe Biden could have taken away the presidency from Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Donald Trump.
So now I guess Kamala Harris has the power to overturn the upcoming 2024 election, if she so chooses. What a country.
