Republicans suing over election because they can’t win

I see in the paper that some Republicans have filed in our county lawsuits claiming our elections are just not fair (“Lawsuits claims 2020 ballots in Washington were manipulated,” The Herald, Sept. 20).

I believe the Republicans like state Rep. Robert Sutherland, D-Granite Falls, know that they can’t win an election in our state if it is statewide. Their problem is that they are way too radical to get elected here. I am old enough to remember that Washington and Oregon used to be noted as states with moderate Republicans. Not anymore!

I have voted for Republicans in the past when I believed they would represent people like me at least a little. I also believe that the radical Republicans would love to take away the right to vote and many other rights if they possibly could for most all city-dwelling Americans. Trump lost all large cities in this country and that is where most of the people live. I don’t think much of the so-called bleeding heart liberals, but the Trumpers are much worse. One thing about it is, with all these frivolous lawsuits many right-wing voters may just not vote. Biden won because he is one of the few moderates left.
