Stations running well; deserve support at polls

This January will mark my 13th year of working for the citizens of Fire District 7. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of the support you have shown at the polls over the last 13 years. The fire department has grown tremendously over that period of time and this growth is a direct result of your support. We have grown from two 24-hour manned stations to five 24-hour manned stations in order to keep up with the tremendous growth in our region.

We also have two stations manned by dedicated volunteers who give a tremendous amount of time in order to give back to their communities. We have a top-notch fleet of emergency vehicles thanks to a well thought out equipment replacement plan. The firefighters are well trained and meet all national training standards thanks to a dedicated training division. The E.M.S system, which provides both basic and advanced life support services and transport to your hospital of choice, is first class.

All of these benefits are based on sound leadership and fiscal responsibility. We are audited every year by the state of Washington and always receive high marks. It is a privilege to serve you. I would ask for your continued support at the polls on Nov. 2.

Scott M. Dorsey

Lieutenant/Paramedic
