Three generations score a bingo with family Scrabble game

Last Saturday my son brought my 9-year-old grandson over for a visit. He asked me if I had a Scrabble board. So I brought out the game my wife and I use once in a while. Then the three of us sat down for our first game together.

What surprised me was that he was able to sit still for about two hours. What amazed was that my grandson won. My son has been round about five times as long as he has, and I have been around about nine times as long. My grandson’s score was 172; my son’s was 161, and mine was 156.

I think the world would be a better place if more grandparents played Scrabble with their grandchildren, since Scrabble requires each player to do the best they can with what they have available at the time.
