We should acknowledge Congress’ action on covid relief

Regarding the opportunity, described by Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson, for our government to take action to deal with the pandemic and issues of equity is critical in the Jan. 24 Herald: Our voices can help, thanking our members of Congress for passing the covid relief package at the end of last year, and asking them to pass the president’s new package for getting control of the pandemic and the economic tragedy it caused.

Linked with this are the issues of equity: hunger, housing, living wage jobs, health care, and quality education. The relief package is a step on this road to equity. Our calls and letters can create the political will to keep Congress and America on the road to equity.
