My definition of a “womanly woman” is a hard working female who works for the sake of her country. Firewomen, policewomen, women doctors and women soldiers are all examples of the “womanly woman.”
I also believe that they will never be recognized as heroes in light of articles such as the Oct. 28 article, “Manly man has made a comeback.” I suppose that if writers wrote articles about women and all their great contributions to our America, then women would be heroes with men as well. After all, our Constitution recognizes the fact that women indeed, are a great help to our society. Women throughout history have never really been respected by mankind. Even now in the new millennium, when men and women are supposed to be equal, people think that men should get all the credit. We, as Americans, need to thank all hard working women who lay their lives on the line in order to serve and protect our country, and let them know they are our nation’s “womanly woman.”
