This week’s featured new home sits on 7.5 acres in rural Snohomish and stretches over 3,254 square feet. It includes four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.

Features include exposed beams, a stone fireplace, expansive windows, covered porches, black walnut custom cabinets, white oak flooring, granite stone countertops and tumbled-edge travertine.

The home, which was built by GMW Construction, has a septic system, a private well, a heat pump with air conditioning, high-tech wiring and plumbing for a central vacuum system.

The floor in the foyer is covered with 16-inch slate tiles accented with a variety of natural stone inlays. From the foyer you can see a rustic chandelier, oak flooring in the sitting and great rooms, and thick fir beams that serve as lower level treads of a staircase that has a wrought iron railing

A 10-foot coffered ceiling, hardwood flooring, numerous wood-wrapped windows, French doors that open to one of two covered patios and a gas fireplace highlight the great room. The fireplace is trimmed with natural stone from floor to ceiling. It has a bluestone hearth and an 800-pound alder mantel the builder affectionately refers to as “the beast.”

The kitchen features a center island with a slab granite top, a recessed five-burner gas cooktop and an extended breakfast bar. Travertine flooring is complemented by oak in the informal nook eating area. Other amenities include black walnut-paneled cabinets, a mosaic tile backsplash with indirect lighting, a built-in desk, a rollout storage drawer and a walk-in pantry with maple shelves.

Completing the main level are a formal dining room, a powder room and a mudrooms with built-in black walnut cabinets and a slate floor. A door in the mudroom opens to the completely finished, three-car garage that’s enclosed by double and single doors with electric openers.

French doors in the dining room open to the second patio, which is plumbed for a gas barbecue.

Upstairs, the master suite dominates. Solid wood French doors open to the sleeping area, which has upgraded carpeting, a paddle fan, three vertical windows framing the natural setting, and a walk-in wardrobe closet.

The five-piece master bath has a walk-in shower that utilizes four different tiles to create a floor-to-ceiling work of art. The jetted soaker tub, placed beneath two corner windows, features a 20-inch travertine tile top, complemented with similar flooring and double vanity surface.

Also on this level are a bonus room, a linen closet, a utility room, a full bath and three additional bedrooms – any of which could serve as a home office. Bathroom amenities include bronze fixtures, which are found throughout the house, plus travertine flooring and easy-clean laminate counter surface and a shower/tub combination. The laundry features black walnut cabinets, a folding table and travertine flooring.
