Zero lot line tri-level in

gated Mukilteo development

This week’s featured new construction is a zero lot line, single-family attached home in the gated Caymus development in Mukilteo. Caymus consists of three five-unit clusters that share a communal pea-patch garden and views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains.

Built by Westtier Homes and Jeanne Koruga, the featured Rutherford model is a three-bedroom, 2.5-bath, tri-level floor plan with 16 inches of dead space and two-by-six wall construction between units to ensure privacy and noise prevention.

The home has a natural gas furnace and fireplace, central vacuum system and fire-suppression sprinkler system. It is also wired for air conditioning.

The lower level includes a tandem three-car garage and a 234 square-feet windowless area that could be utilized as a home theater or exercise room.

A staircase ascends to the main living floor, which consists of a kitchen, great-room, powder room and home office or fourth bedroom.

Kitchen features include strand bamboo flooring, slab granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a pantry closet, extended breakfast bar, and full-height ceramic tile backsplashes ascending to Shaker-style maple cabinets.

The home office has a sliding glass door that opens to a rainproof covered deck with exposed aggregate base. The area is enhanced by a cedar privacy screen and a landscaped back yard.

The great-room includes an in-wall fireplace accented with cultured stone and flanked by built-in bookcases and a media center. A sliding glass door opens to a composite balcony-style deck.

A single vanity topped with ceramic tile highlights the powder room.

Another extra-wide staircase ascends to the third level, consisting of a bedroom suite, two additional bedrooms, a full bathroom and a laundry room.

The suite’s bathroom has an L-shaped double vanity topped with ceramic tile and mosaic glass tile backsplash, a skylight, 18-inch travertine tile flooring, and a walk-in double shower encased in a tile surround with rain-shower head and flex-nozzle with sit-down.

The suite’s sleeping area includes a sitting area and alcove, and a sliding door opening to a Juliet balcony with water and mountain views.

Features of the full bathroom include vinyl flooring, a single vanity topped with tile, and a shower/tub combination with faux white tile fiberglass shell.
