This week’s featured new construction is a three-bedroom, two-bath rambler on a one-acre lot in the Cascadia development east of Marysville. A native growth protection area borders the back yard.

The Maple model has 2,131 square-feet of living space, and includes a completely finished three-car garage enclosed by double and single paneled doors with privacy glass.

The home is heated by an electric furnace with a heat pump option, and has a septic system, city water and high-tech broadband cabling.

Birch flooring covers the home’s foyer and extends into the kitchen and dining room. An open area is situated to the immediate left of the foyer and could be utilized as a den or music room.

To the right, a French door opens to a bedroom suite with vaulted cathedral ceiling, a sitting area, numerous oversized windows, a five-piece bathroom and a large walk-in wardrobe closet.

Highlights of the suite’s bathroom are a high double vanity topped with custom ceramic tile and inlaid tile backsplash accents, tire flooring, wiring for on-wall high-def TV, a corner soaker tub encased in a tile surround placed beneath two windows, and a freestanding shower with sit-downs and glass enclosure.

An arched opening framed by columns provides entry into the formal living room, where a corner gas fireplace is framed with a slate hearth and tumbled slate stones with formal wood surround and mantel. Windows frame a view of the native growth area.

Kitchen attributes include Shaker-style paneled cabinets with crown molding, granite slab countertops with ogee edging, and a ceramic tile backsplash with metal medallion accents.

The kitchen also includes an extended breakfast bar, stainless steel appliances and vent, and a French door that opens from the adjacent nook to an expansive backyard patio plumbed for a propane barbecue.

A short hall leads to the bedroom wing of the rambler, where two oversized bedrooms are serviced by a laundry room and full bath. The bathroom has a double vanity with ceramic tile top and backsplash.

Both bedrooms have Craftsman-style trim, nine-foot ceilings, and double bifold doors enclosing standard closets.
