EVERETT — The Everett AquaSox’s offense was held to just four hits in a 4-2 loss to the Spokane Indians on Thursday night at Funko Field.
Home runs from Ezequiel Tovar and Aaron Schunk gave Spokane a 3-0 lead after four innings.
Cade Marlowe’s two-run home run in the bottom if the sixth inning pulled the AquaSox to within a run at 3-2. But the Indians tacked on another run in the top of the eighth and held on for the win, their 11th in the past 12 games. Spokane has won two of the first three games of the six-game series.
Adam Hill started on the mound for Everett (57-41) and allowed three runs on four hits in six solid innings. Hill struck out seven and walked three. Franklin Van Gurp allowed a run in 1.2 innings of relief before Nate Fisher closed the game with 1.1 scoreless innings, striking out three.
Schunk finished the game 2-for-3 with two RBI, and Brenton Doyle drove in the other run for Spokane (53-45).
