AquaSox manager Moreno suspended 1 week by Mariners

Everett AquaSox manager Jose Moreno was suspended for one week by the Seattle Mariners, a team spokesperson confirmed Wednesday.

The reason for the suspension was not disclosed. The suspension began Tuesday. Carson Vitale, the Mariners’ minor-league field coordinator, will fill in as manager as Moreno serves his suspension.

Moreno, 51, is in his sixth season managing the Mariners’ Class-A short-season team. Moreno has had two stints as AquaSox manager (2008-10 and 2017-19).
