Cascade pounces on Everett miscues

EVERETT – Cascade capitalized on seven Everett errors to score eight runs on just five hits in an 8-1 non-conference baseball win over crosstown rival Everett Thursday at Everett Memorial Stadium.

“They took advantage of every misplayed ball there was,” Everett coach Ron Burdett said. “We didn’t do a good job of taking care of the baseball. We’ve worked too hard to kick the ball around like that.”

Cascade starter Jeff Mugge limited the Seagulls to one run in four innings.

“Their pitcher did a good job of keeping us off balance,” Burdett said.
