Ephrata Raceway Park adds an announcer

Ephrata Raceway Park is ready to begin the 2009 season with the addition of announcer Keith Danson and the upcoming season opener of the Winged Sprint Car Cast Iron Nationals.

Danson hails from Ellensburg WA., and will assume the position from Kelly Hart who has moved to Yakima Speedway. Danson not only has experience of many years in auto racing and announcing, but radio as well. He will handle the live announcing, media and will also voice the radio commercials.

Danson has announced at seven tracks around the state and still announces Demo Derby’s at the Yakima and Tri-City Fairs.

The racing season opener will be May 2 with the 3rd annual Winged Sprint CarCast Iron Nationals sponsored by Pepsi Cola. This will bring together Ephrata Raceway Park 360 Sprints and racers from the Pacific Northwest and Canada. Cast iron motors and uprights only. This will be a $6,000 purse based on 24 cars, with $1,000 to win. M60 tire will be furnished as part of payout.

Tires will be sold at the track from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, April 18.
