EVERETT — Ethan Martin took the game by the scruff to ensure the top-seeded Arlington (17-5) lived to play another day, thanks to a 70-54 victory over Cascade in a 3A District 1 Tournament winner-to-state, loser out game on Saturday.
Cascade held Arlington’s star guard off the scoresheet until midway through the second quarter, keeping the score close. But Martin exploded after that, finishing with 32 points as the Bruins were unable to keep Martin out of the lane.
David Zachman added 12 points and four blocked shots for the Eagles, while Gage Price scored 11.
Devin Gilbert led Cascade (10-11) with 19 points and eight rebounds, while Andrew Cisneros added 12 points and Cameron Edwards scored 11.
