Murray selected for U-18s

In a piece of news a blind person could see coming, Everett defenseman Ryan Murray was named to Canada’s team for the upcoming U1-8 World Championships. The tournament takes place Apr. 14-24 in Germany.
How certain was this? Well, Murray is the only eligible returning player from last year’s team, and he captained Canada’s U-18 team to the gold medal at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament last summer. Add in that Canada is limited to players whose teams are no longer playing, and Murray was a shoo-in.
Indeed, there’s a good chance there will be more Murray news before the tournament begins as he’s got to be a leading candidate to be Canada’s captain.
