Prep hot tickets: Nov. 7-11

Here are four prep postseason events to keep your eye on this week:

Girls soccer: Union at Jackson, 6 p.m. Tuesday. The Timberwolves, predictably, enjoyed another strong season, winning 4A Wesco and Northwest District tournament titles and returning to the state tournament. They open tourney play against Union, which has a 13-3-1 record and finished second in the 4A Greater St. Helens League.

Girls soccer: Bonney Lake at Edmonds-Woodway, 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Warriors (12-3-3) finished third in Wesco 3A but won three straight 3A Northwest District tournament games, all shutouts, to clinch a state berth. Edmonds-Woodway has won seven straight contests, allowing just one goal in that stretch. It opens state-tournament play against Bonney Lake, which is 14-2-0 and finished second in the 3A Pierce County League.

Girls swimming and diving: State meets, Friday and Saturday, King County Aquatic Center, Federal Way. Local swimmers and divers will be striving for top finishes at the final meet of the season. Individuals to watch include Kamiak’s Elli Straume, Oak Harbor’s Olivia Tungate and Archbishop Murphy’s Caroline Kowalchuk.

Volleyball: 3A/4A state tournaments, Friday and Saturday, Toyota Center, Kennewick. Four Snohomish County teams will be in action — Lake Stevens, Jackson, Stanwood and Snohomish. Will the 16-0 Vikings be able to continue their unbeaten season? They open tourney play against Graham-Kapowsin, but their side of the bracket also includes defending champion Auburn Riverside, Puyallup and West Valley (Yakima). Not an easy draw.
