Silvertips alumni update: Carter Hart invigorating Flyers

The rookie netminder appears to be the answer to Philadelphia’s goaltending woes

G Carter Hart — Philadelphia Flyers — 2013-2018 (years in Everett)

The legend of Hart’s rookie season with the Flyers continues to grow, as the former Silvertips netminder was named the NHL player association’s player of the week after a 3-0-0 stretch in which Hart posted a .931 save percentage and a 2.27 goals against average. He was also named the NHL’s rookie of the month for January.

Most recently, Hart turned away a career-high 41 shots in 2-1 win over the Canucks. He’s a major reason why the Flyers have won eight consecutive games and have emerged out of the Metropolitan Division’s basement and are now seven points back of a playoff spot.

Has logged over 20 minutes of ice time in four of his last five games and has skated plenty of shifts with Seth Davis, a viable Norris Trophy candidate and a former Silvertips’ draft pick and Portland Winterhawk. He recently missed the Blue Jacket’s 6-3 win over the Avalanche on Tuesday because of a left ankle injury.

The former Silvertips captain has been out most of the season with a lower-body injury.

D Noah Juulsen — Laval Rocket — 2013-2017

Juulsen put together a stellar start to the season was derailed due to taking two pucks to the face in a game against Washington on Nov. 19. He eventually returned to the lineup on Dec. 11 and played four games before being sent back to Laval, where he played three games before being put on the shelf yet again.

The Canadiens announced on Feb. 1 that the 21-year-old was dealing with a vision-related injury and is out indefinitely. The release also dispelled an earlier report that the injury could be career-threatening. It’s a situation worth monitoring.

Davis collected two assists in a 5-4 overtime win over Tucson.

The 20-year-old leads all Hershey rookies in points with 18 in 46 games played.
