The Silvertips announced on Thursday they signed 2003-born forward Nate Goodbrandson, a seventh-round bantam draft pick in 2018, to a Western Hockey League standard player agreement.
The St. Andrews, Manitoba native has compiled 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists) with the Winnipeg Thrashers Midget AAA this season. He totaled 77 points (31 goals, 46 assists) for the Winnipeg Hawks Bantam AAA last season.
“Nate Goodbrandson has made valuable strides this season with his game and we’re excited he has chosen to commit to our program,” Silvertips general manager Garry Davidson said in a release. “We’ve had several opportunities to observe his game up close this season and he’s left a remarkable impression with his on ice abilities.”
Goodbrandson is the fourth of Everett’s 2018 draft class to sign with the Silvertips, joining defensemen Olen Zellweger (second round) and Ty Gibson (third round) and forward Carter Halamandaris (fourth round).
“It means so much to be an Everett Silvertip and I’m grateful for the friends, family, coaches, and teammates who have helped me work hard to reach this kind of an opportunity,” Goodbrandson said in a release. “I’m looking forward to meeting new teammates, making new friendships in a world class league like the WHL, playing in front of crowds that are so big and energizing in Everett, and continue working on preparations to be ready for the first season of WHL eligibility.”
