Thursday Seahawks links

When the Seahawks claimed O’Brien Schofield off waivers in July, he looked like a nice addition to provide depth to the pass rush. Instead he has become a very valuable player early in the season, starting two games at two different positions. Oh, and the team that cut him? The Arizona Cardinals are losing outside linebackers left and right, and probably really wish they could have a do-over on that decision to release Schofield.

Mike Silver of NFL.com wonders how Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers are going to respond to their first taste of adversity since he took over in 2011.

Also at NFL.com, Antoine Winfield is still weighing his options after being released by the Seahawks, and while he said he was going to retire at the time, he still may play this season in the right situation. The league’s website also has its rank of quarterback play so far this season, putting Russell Wilson at No. 9.

At Grantland.com, a good breakdown of former UW quarterback Jake Locker’s game. The Seahawks will see Locker in a few weeks when the Titans come to town.

The folks at FieldGulls.com do a cool weekly Xs and Os segment, and this week they look at a play where the Jaguars looked to have made a good defensive call, disguising their coverage, but the Seahawks beat it anyway.
