Top local runners to watch at Hole in the Wall invitational

The 38th annual cross country extravaganza takes place Saturday at Lakewood High School in Arlington.

The top-10 local boys and girls runners set to compete in the 38th annual Hole in the Wall Invitational on Saturday. All 5,000-meter times are according to Athletic.net:

BOYS

Sean Bubernak, sr., Jackson

Bubernak holds the fifth-best 5,000-meter finish among local competitors with a 16 minute, 9 second pace at the Wenatchee XC Invite on Sept. 18. His personal-best time ranks 24th in Class 4A this season. Bubernak is running in the varsity gold race.

Jayden Chase, jr., Kamiak

Chase has the seventh-best time in the 5,000 meters among local competitors. His personal-best 16:27.1 pace at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2 ranks 39th in 4A this season. Chase is competing in the varsity gold race.

Gavin Darrah, jr., Lakewood

Darrah holds the ninth-best time among local competitors in the 5,000 meters. His personal-best time of 16:57.1 in a four-team meet at Lakewood High School on Sept. 15 ranks 27th in 2A this season. Darrah is running in the varsity gold race.

Aiden Emerson, sr., Arlington

Emerson enters Saturday’s event with the top 5,000-meter time among all local competitors. His personal-best 15:31.0 finish at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2 ranks sixth in 3A this season. Emerson is participating in the varsity elite race.

Kiyoshi Hall, sr., Arlington

Hall has the sixth-best 5,000-meter time among local competitors with a personal-best 16:16.0 finish at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2. His time ranks 27th in 3A. Hall is running in the varsity elite race.

Jackson Hammons, sr., Kamiak

Hammons posted the fourth-best time this season among all local competitors in the 5,000 meters with a pace of 15:47.8 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2. His personal-best finish ranks seventh in 4A. Hammons is competing in the varsity gold race.

Nicholas LeBar, sr., Glacier Peak

LeBar holds the ninth-best 5,000-meter time among local competitors with a personal-best time of 15:57.9 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2. LeBar is running in the gold division race.

Brandon Moore, sr., Arlington

Moore posted the third-best 5,000-meter finish this season among locals competitors. His season-best time of 15:44.0 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2 ranks 13th in 3A. Moore is participating in the varsity elite race.

Levi Nichols, jr., Glacier Peak

Nichols has the eighth-best 5,000-meter finish among local competitors. His personal-best time of 16:31.3 ranks 42nd in 4A this season. Nichols is running in the varsity gold race.

Jarron Ransford, sr., Lakewood

Ransford posted the 10th-best 5,000-meter time among local competitors. His personal-best finish of 16:59.6 is tied for 29th in 2A this season. Ransford is running in the varsity gold race.

Luke Schmidt, jr., Shorecrest

Schmidt holds the second-best 5,000-meter time this season among local competitors. His personal-best pace of 15:42.4 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2 ranks 10th in 3A. Schmidt is competing in the varsity gold race.

GIRLS

Emma Arceo, sr., Kamiak

Arceo holds the top time among all local competitors in the 5,000 meters. Her season-best time of 18:47.8 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2 ranks 13th in 4A this season. Arceo is running in the varsity gold race.

Alexis Canovali-McKenzie, jr., Monroe

Canovali-McKenzie has the seventh-best pace in the 5,000 meters among local competitors. Her personal-best time of 19:37.1 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2 ranks 49th in 3A this season. Canovali-McKenzie is participating in the varsity gold race.

Rowan Casselman, jr., Shorewood

Casselman posted the sixth-best 5,000-meter time among all local competitors with a personal-best pace of 19:25.2 at the Bellevue Cross Country Invitational on Sept. 25. That time ranks 34th in 3A. Casselman is competing in the varsity silver race.

Sharon Gutierrez, sr., Edmonds-Woodway

Gutierrez holds the fourth-best 5,000-meter finish among local competitors this season. Her personal-best time of 19:12.3 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2 ranks 27th in 3A this season. Gutierrez is participating in the varsity elite race.

Bella Hasan, soph., Kamiak

Hasan has the 10th-best 5,000-meter time among all local competitors with a personal-best time of 19:45.8 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2. Hasan is competing in the varsity gold race.

Leia Jones, sr., Stanwood

Jones holds the fifth-best pace among all local competitors in the 5,000 meters. Her personal-best run of 19:13.1 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2 ranks 28th in 3A this season. Jones is running in the varsity silver race.

Martina Landa, soph., Edmonds-Woodway

Landa posted the ninth-best time in the 5,000 meters among all local competitors with a personal-best run of 19:40.7 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2. Landa is competing in the varsity elite race.

Stella Smith, sr., Edmonds-Woodway

Smith has the eighth-best time in the 5,000 meters among local competitors. Her personal-best finish of 19:38.4 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2 ranks 50th in 3A this season. Smith is running in the varsity elite race.

Adisen Stratton, sr., Glacier Peak

Stratton posted the second-best 5,000-meter finish among local competitors this season. Her personal-best time of 19:07.0 at the Bellevue Cross Country Invitational on Sept. 25 ranks 20th in 4A. Stratton is competing in the varsity elite race.

Jemma Wilcox, sr., Edmonds-Woodway

Wilcox has the third-best 5,000-meter time among local competitors. Her season-best pace of 19:08.8 at the Twilight XC Invitational on Oct. 2 ranks 23rd in 3A this season. Wilcox is participating in the varsity elite race.
