Headline was misleading

As an early childhood specialist with a lifetime of experience, I was dismayed to see the Oct. 5 Associated Press article by David Crary on your front page, titled, “Experts: Not sparing rod can turn kids into bullies.” The headline seemed to suggest that violence against children will keep children from becoming violent. I was even more upset to read and find that the text did not match the headline. Many people unfortunately read only headlines. You have an obligation to your readers to be accurate especially covering such an important topic.
