More tax hikes and empty buses

OK, so they are at it again! Community Transit wants more money. Let’s see, that empty bus I see all the time in my Mountlake Terrace neighborhood now needs to run empty every 15 minutes instead of every half-hour.
They would also like the same ghostly bus to run empty on weekends too – I’ll bet that it costs about $100 an hour to operate that empty bus. Why not have the bus run every hour? I believe that if you, as a bus riding person, would like the taxpayers to subsidize your ride, I do not think that a bus running once an hour would be that bad.
Has Community Transit ever thought of cutting costs? Only about 5 percent of all trips are being taken by means of public transportation. Do not vote for this insane tax increase that would have you stuck behind an empty bus even more often.
We would probably be better off giving taxi cab vouchers to the poor and those who cannot afford a car so they can use when they want. And we would not have the ghost bus burning money all day long in hope for some passengers.
