Island incumbents enjoy success at polls

COUPEVILLE — Voters were putting familiar faces back in office Tuesday, based on early unofficial vote tallies.

But in Coupeville, incumbent councilman Philip Williamson was slightly behind — at one point late Tuesday, by only one vote — in the race to retain his Position 5 seat against a challenge by Roxallanne Medley. Growth was the big campaign issue in Coupeville, the fastest growing town in Island County over the past decade.
