What to know about fireworks

While fireworks are illegal in Snohomish County for most of the year, some cities allow people to set off their own fireworks during certain hours on July 4. The county advises that people obtain fireworks legally and stay sober. To report the illegal discharge of fireworks, call 425-407-3999. Only call 911 if there is an immediate threat to life or property, authorities say.

Where it’s illegal to light fireworks: Arlington, Bothell, Brier, Edmonds, Everett, Gold Bar, Lynnwood, Snohomish, Marysville, Mill Creek, Mountlake Terrace, Mukilteo, Woodway and unincorporated southwest Snohomish County.

Where it’s legal to light fireworks on July 4: Granite Falls, Stanwood, Sultan, Lake Stevens, Monroe, Index and other parts of unincorporated Snohomish County from 9 a.m. to midnight.

In Sultan, fireworks are also legal from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 3 and July 5.

Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated the times and dates that fireworks are legal throughout the county. A previous version also misstated that dinner is included in the ticket price for the event at Hotel Indigo in Everett. Food and drink will be available for purchase at the event.
