Community enjoyed a special celebration

On behalf of the citizens and visitors of Marysville I want to extend our sincerest thanks to all of the volunteers that assisted in the success of the Merrysville for the Holidays Parade and festivities held on Dec. 1. The event celebrated its 13th year in less than desirable weather featuring 60-mph winds and frequent rain showers. Considering the weather challenges an estimated 1,500 spectators enjoyed a very special community celebration to kick off the great holiday spirit in Marysville.
Many thanks to Buse Timber, Marysville Lions Club, Kiwanis Club of Marysville, Marysville PTSA Council, Marysville Police Department and Parks Department, Marysville Fire District the members of the Ken Baxter Senior Community Center and of course Santa, Mrs. Claus and their two elves. Finally a special thanks to the Marysville Historical Society for their commitment and financial support ensuring that the Marysville water tower remains standing proud with its holiday lighted snare drum.
We really appreciate the support of all the parade entries that worked so hard to create and light all of their floats providing great memories that will cheer us all through the season. We also send special thanks to The Herald for publishing the event in advance as well as great coverage of a truly magical time.
Please accept our thanks and gratitude to all that continue volunteering to assist your community during a great holiday event.
