Media has taken a destructive route

I think the media is the devil’s advocate. By media, I mean all means of communication – radio, TV, magazines, entertainment industry, movies, newspapers and the advertising industry. Our forefathers are turning over in their graves at modern society’s interpretation of free speech.

The widespread notion that freedom can be lived without reference to binding moral truths is another characteristic of contemporary life. How is freedom to be lived so that freedom doesn’t destroy itself?

It is for freedom’s sake that the moral culture of a free and virtuous society must guard against freedom becoming self-destructive. Which is the route the media has taken!

So much that is negative and just plain not good for us is broadcast every nanosecond throughout the planet. There is no beauty or softness fed to us by the media. We have become a violent nation.

The modern world has forgotten the connection between freedom and its moral ground, the foundation on which claims to freedom are coherent and persuasive.

We are experiencing the effects of moral subjectivism and relativism. America’s greatest need is to restore faith within a culture which has succumbed to the extreme relativists who have the upper hand in some intellectual circles and to the worst of popular entertainment, whose influence is widespread and corrosive.
