The Mount Baker ski area and the Crystal Mountain ski area near Mount Rainier will both open on Thursday. As of Tuesday morning, Crystal had about 10 inches of snow at the base and 28 inches at the summit. Baker had 46 inches at the base.

  • Crystal will have the Rainier Express, Chinook Express and Green Valley chairlifts running, and tickets will be $20 on Thursday and Friday.

  • Mount Baker will have the No. 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8 chairlifts running, and lift tickets will be $29 on Thursday and Friday. Both ski areas will be open 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

  • Stevens Pass and the Summit at Snoqualmie ski areas are still waiting for more snow but hope to be open by Thanksgiving.

The South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club awarded $9,850 to the Mukilteo Boys and Girls Club during the Rotary Club’s meeting Friday.

Chuck Davis, director of the Boys and Girls Club, said the money would be used to enhance the youth club’s after-school technology program, which provides computer training for children.

The Rotary Club obtained the money through fund-raising programs it conducts during the year. All of the money raised through those programs is donated to charities.

Irwin Mortgage and the Everett Silvertips are sponsoring a food and gently used coat drive to benefit the local community.

Drop off donations 5-8 p.m. tonight and Friday at the Everett Events Center, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett.
