Thanksgiving isn’t a holiday most people associate with the potential for burns, but the latest turkey-cooking craze, outdoor deep fryers, can be dangerous, according to American Medical Response Northwest.
Here are some safety tips:
Happy Thanksgiving. Here are some resulting changes today:
Government: Federal, state and most local offices are closed.
Schools: Closed.
Post offices: Closed, although Express Mail service continues.
Commerce: Most businesses and banks are closed. Some retail stores are open but malls are closed.
Transportation: Community Transit and Dial-A-Ride operate on a limited Sunday schedules. Everett Transit buses won’t be running.
Ferries: Edmonds-Kingston route on a limited Saturday schedule; Point Defiance-Tahlequah will be on a holiday schedule; Port Townsend-Keystone and Fauntleroy-Vashon-Southworth offers an extra sailing at 1:20 p.m. from Vashon to Fauntleroy and a 1:55 p.m. from Fauntleroy to Vashon; Seattle-Bremerton auto ferry, Seattle-Bainbridge and Mukilteo-Clinton will be on a holiday schedule.
The Herald: Classified and the reception area will be closed Thursday. The Herald delivery deadline is 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Customer service will be available between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at 425-339-3200.
