Seems Like Yesterday

With a group of friends on hand that looked like a roster of Who’s Who in Banking in the Pacific Northwest, Jud Norway, vice president of First National Bank, was honored at the Cascade Club. The occasion was the celebration of his 50th year with the Everett banking institution.
Everett announced the appointment of Walter Gaby to the recently established position of city planner. Gaby had previous experience in planning in Bremerton and the U.S. Army.
For the second time in three years, the Snohomish High School football team was the state AAA football champion. Dick Armstrong’s Panthers defeated Ingraham 14-8 at the Kingdome in Seattle.
There was a new game in town at the Everett Boys Club — foosball. Program director Chuck David stipulated that the club’s first tournament operate by the draw-your-partner rule. Some of the teams were Mark Jefferies and Mike Rife, George Bonner and Jim Skogan, and Phil Hisgrove and Buddy Richotte.
