Automatic payment option might help

One thing that would decrease late power-bill payments is for the Snohomish County PUD to institute an optional auto-pay. The time between receipt of the bill and the payment date is short for people who are away from home or distracted for a long period for any reason.

I am fortunate that I have no financial probems paying my bill, and can afford to contribute to Project Pride with each bill. Since I am out of town frequently I have set up nearly all my bills for auto-payment (through direct debit or credit card); the PUD is the only problem supplier. Even my property taxes are auto-pay (thank you, Bob Dantini). It can’t be that hard and the expense should be covered by fewer delinquent accounts to deal with. Get modern, PUD.
