SALEM, Ore. – Charges have been filed against two people accused of providing false information to police that led to an Amber Alert.
Stacey Quintero, 32, of Salem and her 17-year-old nephew were arrested late last week on charges of custodial interference and initiating a false report.
They told police that Victoria Quintero, 37, had abducted her two children, Justin, 8, and Jonah, 18 months.
Authorities believe Stacey Quintero, Justin and Jonah’s aunt, allowed the mother to take them from her home even though they were supposed to be in state custody.
Police are still looking for Victoria Quintero and her children.
