Emirates says it won’t retaliate for Dubai ports

Although the Dubai ports debacle was “rather a slap in the face,” a senior executive with Emirates tells The New York Times http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/03/29/business/emirates.php that it won’t penalize Boeing
Key Quote: “As one of Boeing’s largest customers and a major buyer of General Electric jet engines, Emirates Group is the Dubai company best positioned to retaliate against the United States by taking its business elsewhere. … They have pledged not to change their treatment of American companies and are forging ahead with ambitious expansion plans, which include direct flights from the Middle East to California, then to other U.S. cities that could include Houston and Chicago.”
