Missing Mill Creek man in King County Jail

MILL CREEK – A Mill Creek man who was reported missing last week has turned up in the King County Jail.
Ryan Miller, 34, was arrested by Port of Seattle police Aug. 8 on suspicion of trespassing, according to Mill Creek police. Miller reportedly wouldn’t give his name, so he was booked as John Doe, police said.
Police determined who he was after a private investigator found his van parked at Sea-Tac International Airport.
Miller was reported missing earlier on the day he was arrested after leaving home without any money or identification. He also left behind medication he’s required to take, police said.
Mukilteo: Firefighters evacuate businesses
Businesses were evacuated and a street was shut down Wednesday when a mixture of metals reportedly caught fire inside a 55-gallon drum.
Firefighters were called about 3 p.m. to a metal shop in the 4200 block of Russell Road when a worker reportedly noticed the lid of the drum bowing upward, Mukilteo Fire Chief Jack Colbath said.
Fearful the drum could explode, firefighters evacuated nearby buildings and closed down Russell Road. They sprayed water on the drum to cool it down, Colbath said.
There was no damage to the building, and nobody was injured.
Snohomish: Fire crews battle logjam fire
Firefighters from Snohomish and Monroe spent Wednesday afternoon battling a burning logjam on the Snohomish River.
The fire started about 1:45 p.m. near a mobile home park in the 13200 block of Elliott Road, Snohomish County District 7 Battalion Chief Mark Toycen said.
Firefighters pumped water from the river to douse the blaze, Toycen said. The fire was extinguished by 4 p.m. before it could spread along the shore.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, Toycen said.
