Carolyn Eslick has joined First Mutual Bank as the community business banking officer for the Monroe, Woodinville and Redmond branches.

Doug Kimura of Lynnwood has joined the Totem Council of Girl Scouts as its human resources director and will serve as its senior-level adviser on human resource issues throughout the organization. He is a certified senior professional in human resources and was recently employed as human resources manger at a Snohomish County manufacturing firm with nearly 400 employees. Kimura has been active in the region’s human resources community. He serves on the board of the Society of Human Resource Management’s statewide council.

Alan Brockway, Pam LaVergne, Sheryl Foley and Katherine Logan are new staff members at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County, a branch of the YMCA of Snohomish County. Brockway is director of volunteer recruitment, LaVergne is school-based coordinator, Foley is site-based coordinator and Logan is program and office support specialist.

John Haskell, Allen Funk, Carol Whitehead, Jim Sporrong, Janice Ellis, Mike Zubovic, Tracy Cumming and Eric Lucas new officers on the board of trustees for the YMCA of Snohomish County. Haskell, senior vice president of ABD Insurance and Financial Services, is the new board chairman. Funk, president and publisher of The Herald, and Whitehead, superintendent of Everett Public Schools, are vice chairmen.Other officers are treasurer Sporrong, of Verizon Communications, and secretary Ellis, Snohomish County prosecuting attorney. Immediate past chairman is Zubovic of Goodrich Corp., Aviation Technical Services.Cumming, of Lang Manufacturing Co., and Lucas, Snohomish County superior court judge, are new board members.

Mary Ann Gillis is the new senior corporate relations manager of Allstate Insurance Co.’s northwest region, which oversees business in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and Hawaii. An Everett resident, Gillis earned degrees in English and speech communication from the University of Washington. She has 12 years in insurance-related public relations, previously served as the communication manager for Safeco Corp. Most recently, Gillis served as the communications manager for Compass Health in Everett. Connie Reilly of Lynnwood is among Allstate Insurance agents who have earned the title of personal financial representative. She is now able to help her customers with investment options in addition to auto, home and life insurance needs.

Bonnie Steiner, Ken de Haan, Barbra Hyman and Barbara Grimes have new positions at Cascade Bank. Steiner, of Everett, has returned to Cascade Bank as vice president and manager of the bank’s Marysville branch. Previously she worked as manager of the Broadway branch, and has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry. She volunteers with such organizations as Habitat for Humanity and the Earle Baum Center for the blind. De Haan has been promoted to vice president. He joined the bank 10 years ago as staff appraiser and has held his current position of chief appraiser since 2001. Hyman, of Snohomish, has been promoted to vice president. She has been assistant controller and has more than 20 years experience in the field, previously working as reconciliation supervisor and internal audit manager at other financial institutions. Grimes, of Mukilteo, has been promoted to vice president. She has worked in the bank’s finance division as asset and liability manager and has more than 20 years experience in the field. She is on the board of the Mukilteo Schools Foundation.

Workshops

A four-week financial workshop for individual investors will be presented by Rick Best, an Edward Jones investment representative in Mukilteo, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 12 through Nov. 2, at 712 Third St., Mukilteo. A Snohomish County job fair, held at Everett Community College, is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 12 at 2000 Tower St. More than 40 employers from a variety of industries are planning to attend the fair and many are hoping to hire immediately. The job fair includes a free resume critiquing center, and computers will be available for online applications. Free parking for the job fair is available in the lot at 10th Street and Broadway. Human Services Council of Snohomish County’s 21st annual partnerships forum is 5 p.m. Nov. 2 at Holiday Inn of Everett.
