Tradeoff for cutting trees is not worth it

Published 9:00 pm Monday, October 23, 2006

In reference to the Oct. 16 Herald article about the park and ride: I have a very difficult time understanding the concept that removing 15 acres of beautiful trees along I-5 to accomplish that for 400 cars, makes any sense at all. Where does any kind of value come into play when $41 million is being spent to save nine minutes for the commuter? How about just setting the alarm nine minutes earlier and saving the taxpayer a bundle of money? The trees are already going down, which is terrible, but stop it there.
