It will only bring additional bureaucracy

The Herald’s recommendation to vote yes on I-937 seems very poor. Here in the Northwest, where most of our electricity is generated through use of hydroelectric dams, one questions the need for the additional bureaucracy that is generated by these new reporting requirements. Their costs of course will be borne by those of us on the receiving end of all those kilowatts.

Even though most of our dams were in operation before the March 31, 1999 cutoff date, I see no language in this measure that exempts our PUD or Bonneville or others from these onerous reporting requirements. Think about it.
