Kim Halvorson will put citizens first

If you are concerned about ever-rising property taxes in Snohomish County, I have a solution for you: Vote Kim Halvorson. Kim’s opponent, John McCoy, has spent his past two terms pushing the Quil Ceda tax package (HB 1721), a bill that would siphon millions off our county revenue. The loss in revenue would force our county government to either drastically increase taxes or severely reduce services. What is most troubling about this legislation is the severe conflict of interest that exists. In addition to being a legislator, John McCoy is general manager of Quil Ceda Village, an intended benefactor of the legislation.

I don’t mind if McCoy wants to lobby on behalf of Quil Ceda Village – but I want someone who will represent us – not special interests. I am voting for Kim Halvorson because we deserve to have a legislator who will put us, the citizens of Everett and Marysville, first.
