‘Armed’ stars leave a gift for Muncie

“Armed &Famous” was a surprise hit, and is a surprisingly good show, so it’s fitting that when filming wrapped up in Muncie, Ind., this week, the cast surprised the police department that opened its proverbial arms to them with three fully equipped 2007 Hummer police SUVs.
The gifts were given at a ceremony that ended production in Muncie and marked the end of the celebrities’ service as reserve police officers in the department.
CBS says Muncie Police Chief Joe Winkle was so impressed, in particular, with Jack Osbourne’s performance that he extended an invitation to Osbourne to become a full-time member of the Muncie Police Department. “Osbourne, who was moved by the offer, referred to his time in Muncie as the most powerful experience he has ever been through in his life,” the network said in a press release. Osbourne passed on the offer to move to Muncie, but he did ask Winkle if would provide a letter of recommendation for him to attend a police academy in Los Angeles County.
The show airs at 8 p.m. Wednesdays on KIRO, Channel 7.
