50 years ago (1957)

The Everett School District’s spring concert at the Civic Auditorium featured grade school musicians and announcers; the announcers were Marilyn Winde and Judie Schalka.

25 years ago (1982)

Sue Howard had an enviable problem. A senior at Darrington High School, she wasn’t sure where her future in sports lay. She was the Loggers’ leading scorer and rebounder in basketball. She was a softball four-year starter at shortstop. She led her volleyball team to the tournament, and she ran the 400-meter on the track team.
