MARYSVILLE – A benefit for an 18-year-old Marysville woman, who was injured when she was hit and pinned under a van, is scheduled for 3 p.m. today at the New California Tavern at 8421 State Ave.
The benefit, which will feature live music, is also is intended as an opportunity for those who came to the woman’s aid to meet one another, her mother said.
On April 4, a delivery van in the drive-through of a fast-food restaurant jumped the curb, drove into oncoming traffic and then veered back onto the sidewalk, striking three people at a bus stop and pinning the woman beneath the van. Three men helped lift the van off the woman.
The woman was released Wednesday from Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and is recovering, her mother said.
