Learn to earn diplomas online

An information session is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in downtown Everett for parents and students who want to learn more about Move Up, the Marysville School District’s online program that helps students earn a diploma outside of a traditional high school campus.

The program is a partnership between the district and Advanced Academics, an Oklahoma-based company that contracts with nearly 200 public school districts and charter schools in 29 states.

Students don’t need to be from Marysville to sign up. This year the program had about 170 students from within the district and about 350 overall.

The information session will be at the Holiday Inn, 3105 Pine St., Everett. Similar sessions will be offered in Seattle and Tacoma later this month.
