The League of Women Voters of Snohomish County, KSER 90.7 FM and The Herald plan to play host to two City Council candidate forums on Monday and Tuesday.

The question-and-answer sessions will begin at 4:30 p.m. both days at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave. The forums are free and open to the public.

KSER plans to air a live broadcast of the forums, and Comcast Cable Channel 21 will also record the debates for rebroadcast.

Ten candidates in the city, including three incumbents, are looking to fill four citywide council positions.

Sheriff candidate to meet with voters

SNOHOMISH – Snohomish County sheriff’s Lt. Rob Beidler plans to meet with people Wednesday to talk about his run for county sheriff.

Beidler is among three candidates vying for job for 2008. Term limits prevent Sheriff Rick Bart from running again. The primary race is Aug. 21 with the top two candidates moving on to the general election Nov. 6.

Beidler plans to be available to answer questions from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Buzz Inn, 9900 Airport Way, Snohomish.
